Dr. Yang was English Panel Head and Vice Principal of two different schools before joining King Ling College. He was an appointed SCOLAR member (2009-2015), and the Chairman of Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association (2014-2019). He is now the Chairman of Curriculum Development Council Committee (English).

Samuel is currently a Vice Principal at a local DSS secondary school. He graduated from the university with a Bachelor and a Master degree majoring in Teaching English as a Second Language. He had been an English Panel Head for more than 10 years who had been a core member of Learning Community of the Language Support Section of the Education Bureau. He is also the advisor of Further Studies & Careers Guidance Team, the Head of Teachers’ Development & Appraisal Team, the Head of International Exchange Team and the Head of Class teachers at his serving school.

Abby Miranker is a program coordinator and internship manager at Cultural Agents, based in Cambridge Massachusetts. Abby’s dedication to creativity and global citizenship, and her fascination with art as a social and political tool has taken her from participating in performance art in the Boston area, to attending art fairs in Mexico City, and working with photographers at the Havana Biennial. She is thrilled to turn her artistic interests toward the education setting where she oversees Cultural Agents’ programs and leads workshops using the Pre-Texts pedagogy.

Alder had been working in Global 500 companies for over 10 years, with excellent experience in international and China trading. Alder also has several executive positions experiences including financing and business sectors.

Ben is an entrepreneur, management consultant, publisher and author. He is the founder of D Mind Education and former Regional Managing Director of Oxford University Press (Mainland China & Hong Kong). Ben frequently serves as judging panel member of the Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Award and other professional publishing awards.

the writer of ‘The Boy who Cried “I Promise!”’. She was a teacher at the CUHK ‘English WeCan’ project, counsellor at YMCA, San Francisco, CA. Candy was also a member of Wiseman Education and ThinkSeries, where she engaged in different curriculum development and coordination projects- ranging from secondary school-based and HKDSE curriculum, to promoting the use of classics language arts across primary and secondary schools.

PhD (Harvard), formerly business professor at University of California, Berkeley. Prof Wong has been on the boards of directors of banks, various public and private corporations, high tech start ups, and organizations in USA, Europe, Asia, Hong Kong, China.

Co-Founder and Executive Director of Ming Ping Marketing Strategy Company Limited. Stanley had been working as executive positions in several companies. He helped in promoting The American Girl as a well-known brand. Stanley is experienced in international trading and financing. In 2004, Stanley had been appointed as the Licensing Director of The Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf which is the number one animation series in Mainland China. Later on he helped their M&A with a HK Listco and closed the deal with Disney as the sole licensor world wide.

Tracy works in the renewable energy innovation space. In her spare time, Tracy leads the Oxford university climate alumni regional network for the whole of Asia, Australia and New Zealand. She is committed to empowering the next generation of change makers to solve the world’s most pressing problems.

Ada has worked for over 20 years in management level of multi-national companies managing portfolios across Australia, NZ and the Asia Pacific region. Having completed a double degree in Commerce and Psychology from the University of Melbourne, Ada also holds a MBA and is a qualified CPA accountant. She is experienced in various workplace training and presentation settings in English, while her daughter keeps her interested in childrens' development.

Prof. Doris Sommer, the Director of the Cultural Agents Initiative at Harvard University, is an Ira and Jewell Williams Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures and of African and African American Studies.

Her academic and outreach work promotes development through the arts and humanities, specifically through the arts-based literacy pedagogy- Pre-Texts- in Boston Public Schools, throughout Latin America and beyond.

Jose is a Lecturer at the Department of Fine Arts in Brandeis University. He received his PhD from Harvard University in Romance Languages and Literatures. He teaches Latin American Art & Architecture.

Neil has been the Head of English Language and Literature at St. Paul's Convent School for over 20 years. This school aims to provide a seamless bilingual education for girls in a happy and motivating learning environment so that they will earn to embrace the Paulinian heritage of truth, beauty, goodness, nobility and honour. His interests include Shakespeare, modern literature and cinema. He enjoys curriculum design, teaching English Literature and training teachers.

Phillip Yin is a Journalist and a communications and corporate partnerships advisor. He is currently an advisor and partner with the American Chamber of Commerce and speaks on U.S. networks including Fox Business on current events. He was previously a broadcast business journalist covering topics such as business technology, aviation, and politics for CNBC, Bloomberg News and CCTV America.

Rebecca is a retired secondary school Principal who has had diversified experiences in the local education context. She graduated from the university with a Bachelor degree majoring in English Literature and Language. She also completed her PGDE in the University of Hong Kong and her Master of Education in CUHK. She has worked in different secondary schools as an English Panel Chairperson before becoming a school Principal. She is experienced in second language education, curriculum development and teacher education.

Rowena is a certified Master Coach of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and is currently coaching professionals, parents, youth and children focusing on mindset and resilience. She has spoken at local (Australia) and international students/youth events. Prior to this, she was an IT professional and graduated from Monash University in Melbourne.

Sherry has her undergraduate BA from Georgetown University, followed by masters from Yale University. She has held various positions at a buy-side investment company, a high growth fashion company in LA, and a retail chain in Hong Kong. From a young age, she was taught to be responsible for her actions, to reuse and not to waste. She is now a co-founder of EcoDrive Hong Kong, a non-profit organisation established in 2018 with a focus on education and the reduction of single-use plastics in Hong Kong. She strongly believes in the motto: “We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children”.

Tommy received his bachelor’s degree from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, where he led in completing multiple educational projects. These include volunteer teaching and counseling in college students’ high school alma maters, cultural exchange activities with fellows from Ivy League universities, etc. In recent years, Tommy focuses on providing consulting services for college students who are in preparation for graduate study, and has helped more than 250 students to receive admission to Ivy League universities.

Tommy enjoys traveling, and has visited more than 160 UN countries. He also visited a variety of schools in India, Pakistan, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Spain, Sweden, Canada, the United States, the UK, etc. Thus, he has gained a comparative view of learning and schooling in different parts of the world.

Angel Lam is the Lead Principal at Envision Human Capital & Advisory Group. Before that, she had over 20 years of experience from Robert Walters, Heidrick & Struggles, and Korn Ferry. She also founded JumpUp. Angel graduated from the University of California with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons).

Grace had been Vice Principal (Student Affairs) of Good Hope School from 2014-2020 before her retirement in September 2020.

Owing to her passion for English Language teaching, Grace was one of the five awardees from Good Hope School to receive the Chief Executive Award for Teaching Excellence in English Language (2003-2004). Besides, Grace served different groups in the Education Bureau from 2009 to 2017.

Currently, Grace is an English Language Consultant as well as a freelance writer.

Ms Mandy TSANG has served as a curriculum officer in Gifted Education of the Education Bureau, Hong Kong SAR for more than 10 years and created a number of pedagogical models: 13 HOT Skills, 5-level Affective Reflection, 4 Keys to Catering for Learner Diversity and 6 Steps in Leading Students to Self-directed Learning. The models are extensively tried out in schools in Hong Kong and achieved positive impact in enhancing higher order thinking and positive values of students and most important of all, capitalising the potential of students with different abilities and interests. She has rich experience in designing and conducting professional development for teachers and supporting schools to plan and implement school based gifted education. She found Higher Order Thinking Association in 2018 and continue her commitment to consultancy & support for school development at policy, curriculum and classroom levels.

Mandy has been teaching English for more than 20 years at a local secondary school in Hong Kong. An enthusiast of sports, music, books and arts, Mandy enjoys sweating after workout and attending concerts of all kinds in her free time. Her peers describe her as versatile, spontaneous and playful. She is welcomed by students of all backgrounds. Her motto is “Work hard, play harder.”
